more cowgirls! more prairies! i am reading all the pretty horses, so it only seems right.

this girl i imagine to be a firecracker in one of them prairie schoolhouses my grandma used to teach in. where all the grades and ages are in one room. and she's too smart and driven. and she stirs up trouble. and, of course, she rides a horse like a total badass. her story will probably end in tragedy because, you know, the times. probably something like in carnivàle. but for now she is sassy and vital and oh so in charge of her destiny. nothing but dust and dirt and the horizon and the endless prairie sky reflecting in her eyes.

it's the entire cast of a medieval drama?! YES PLEASE! everyone is here! the disenchanted daughter. the troubled son. the coachman. the too-young mistress. the knight's apprentice. the put-upon queen. the witch (doi). the church. the peasant boy. and sooooo on!

(i admit that most of my olden-timey history comes from young adult novels i read when i was 13... so. i might be a bit off as far as period but WHATEVES! I LOVE IT!)

also this model, carolina thaler, reminds me of my old school friend darrah. yeah?
